I have been doing a lot of thinking this year and I have been working on a lot of things that I need to change. And through the many experiences I have had in the last year, I have to say I am excited for the start of a new one. I, for once, feel like I am starting off on the right foot; with the right friends beside me to support me and help me to grow and continue to challenge me to become a better person, and some hard learned lessons and tools to take me off in the right direction into independence. I am excited for the opportunity to finally be on my own. And more importantly I am glad I am not doing it alone. If there is anything that I have learned in the last year, it’s that trying to do everything yourself doesn’t work. I am glad to have grown out of my immature persona, and come into a mature soon to be adult, although, I am well aware that I still have quite a bit I need to work on.
My hopes for this year are simple, to work hard, accomplish much, and learn all that I can about life and the knowledge that it holds. I want to thank everyone for all the help that they have given me, weather it through knowing advice or examples to follow, and in some cases, examples to not follow. I hope that everyone can come into this year optimistic of the future, but still realize the reality of the situation so that it can be a prosperous year for all. I wish you all luck for those of you starting your own lives within the next couple of years, and to all those who already have, I hope that things are going well for you and continue to do so. Happy new year everyone, and thank you for being in my life and helping me to be a better person.
